Just in case you thought the migration of Austin restaurants to Houston was going to slow down anytime soon, a Capitol City-based coffee chain has long-term plans to join the parade.
Investment documents provided to Eater by a source indicate that Halcyon Coffee + Bar + Lounge will make its way to Houston in the next couple of years. Also in the works is the coffee shop’s sister concept Stella Public House, a restaurant that serves up “farm to table pizza” alongside craft beer.
Houston is just the latest stop on Halcyon and Stella Public House’s march across Texas. This spring, an outpost of Halycon Coffee will open in Dallas, joining locations in Austin, San Antonio, and California. Stella Public House is currently open in Austin, San Diego, and San Antonio.
According to the documents, Halcyon & Stella Public House owner Texas Zebo is in talks to open both restaurants as part of the Phase II development at Rice Village. Both concepts wouldn’t land in Houston until at least 2019, or maybe 2020, and a lot could change between now and then. Stay tuned for more updates.
