As the last couple of months have proven, poke is the hottest dish in Houston right now. Thanks to a slew of new spots like Moku Bar, Ono Poke, and North Shore Poke Co., there’s no shortage of places to indulge in a sushi bowl. Next month, SeaSide Poke will bring yet another raw fish option to EaDo.

Announced via release, SeaSide Poke is set to open its doors at 2118 Lamar in East Downtown in the next few weeks. The menu of eight pre-built bowls was developed by chefs Vuthy Srey (formerly of Aka Sushi House) and Tai Nguyen, who worked in the kitchens at Uchi and Soma Sushi. Of course, diners will also be able to customize poke bowls with ahi, yellowtail, and a variety of toppings.

Considering poke’s success in Houston, the owners of SeaSide Poke are already scoping out a second, as-yet-unnamed location for their concept. The first outpost in EaDo is expected to arrive in May, with the second to follow in late 2017.
