Better Luck Tomorrow, the much-anticipated “bar with food” from bar empresario Bobby Heugel and James Beard Award-winning chef Justin Yu has quietly kicked open its doors in the Heights.

A post to Heugel’s Instagram stories from yesterday shows off a sign in the window of the bar at 544 Yale that announces Better Luck Tomorrow’s soft opening. According to the post, the bar is “about 90%” completed, with just a few finishing touches to finalize inside the space before it’s ready to make its official debut.

The team has been notoriously tight-lipped about the food and beverage menus, but Instagram posts from last night’s soft opening provide some clues as to what will be on offer. One post shows of a glorious sandwich crusted with a layer of crispy parmesan, and another shows off a delicate Gibson cocktail garnished with onion and pear.

The sign in Better Luck Tomorrow’s window indicates that the bar will officially open the doors on May 3. No word yet on whether or not it will continue its soft opening through the weekend, but Eater has reached out for more details.
