At present, Downtown Houston already has plenty of solid options for spots to grab a drink. Soon, though, a new bar will serve up an “urban oasis” above one of the city’s hottest cocktail spots.
A newly-established Facebook page for High & Dry announces that the “rum bar and urban oasis” will open its doors on the second floor of the building at 306 Main Street, just above beloved Downtown cocktail lounge Moving Sidewalk. A WhoIs search for the bar’s website registrar only turns up a private domain registration service based in Arizona, which means that the minds behind this project obviously wish to be anonymous for now.
Downtown seems to be a hot destination right now for Houston watering holes, with Bobby Heugel’s Tongue-Cut Sparrow having opened up just down the street a few months ago. Also in the works is a brewery called 160ft Beerworks, expected to open just a stone’s throw away near the old Oxheart.
No word yet on when High & Dry will kick open the doors. Eater has reached out to the mysterious person behind this new concept for more details, and will update this post with new information as it comes in.
