After a lengthy wait, Houstonians will soon be able to get their hands on the goods from beloved Austin institution Tacodeli.
Announced via release, the Austin-based chain will officially open its doors in Houston next week at 1902 Washington Avenue. The quick-service eatery serves up more than 40 different taco options, many of which are vegetarian or vegan. The arrival of Tacodeli brings a casual and quick eatery to this stretch of Washington Ave, which is also home to swanky steak spot B&B Butchers and cocktail bar Julep.
"I've been a huge fan of the Houston restaurant scene since I first started visiting back in the 80s,” said Tacodeli founder and chef Roberto Espinosa in a statement. “It’s really amazing to know that we will be able to offer tacos in this vibrant and diverse city.” Tacodeli’s arrival in Houston was likely not as easy as Espinosa planned, considering that the restaurant was originally expected to open last fall.
Tacodeli will kick open the doors bright and early for breakfast on Tuesday, April 11. The restaurant will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. seven days a week.
