Houston has plenty of sushi and poke, but U’Maki will soon unleash its gigantic, burrito-style rolls to Space City when it opens in the coming weeks.

A representative for the forthcoming spot at 10111 Louetta Road tells Eater that U’Maki is waiting on a few final permits before the doors can open. The spot was originally expected to open in April, but slight delays in permitting have pushed the opening back a few weeks.

When U’Maki makes its debut, the restaurant will serve a menu of build-your-own sushi burritos and bowls. A selection of six pre-determined options like the Deep Diver (spicy tuna, salmon, cucumber, mango, masago and more) will be available for those who are unable to decide on the perfect combination of all those toppings and sauces.

No concrete date has been set just yet, but U’Maki Sushi Burrito is expected to quietly arrive by the end of May. A grand opening celebration will follow later in June.
