EaDo continues to be a popular destination for new Houston restaurants and bars, and that trend will continue when Chapman & Kirby makes its debut in the neighborhood this week.
A post to Chapman & Kirby’s Facebook page announces that it is just about ready to kick open the doors at 2118 Lamar in the new East Village development. The spot describes itself as a “gastrolounge and private event space,” in a building that offers a decidedly industrial-chic vibe. Not much is known about the menu just yet, but according to the Houston Press, former Pappas Bros. chef Tim Soufan has been tapped to lead the kitchen.
Scope out a few sneak peek photos of the space below:
The spot was originally expected to open in mid-March, just after the Super Bowl festivities. During Super Bowl 51, the spot played host to tons of celebrities (like Ludacris and countless athletes) during one of the weekend’s fanciest parties. Then, the date was pushed to late April without explanation.
Despite delays, Chapman & Kirby will make its official debut on Thursday, June 1. The party starts at 4 p.m.
