New Club Lets Fancy Toddlers Dine at Upscale Houston Restaurants

Eat with your kid at fancy spots like Hugo’s

— For “parents of pipsqueaks” who just can’t find a sitter, NYC’s Nibble+squeak is expanding to Houston. The dining club hosts events at local upscale restaurants, which allows families to eat in private dining rooms as to not disturb other patrons. For budding gourmands, the club also “encourages children who are old enough to try new food and practice dining at a new restaurant.” The club will host its first event on June 5th at Hugo’s. — He’s no longer with the Astros, but Texas native Hunter Pence is plotting a Houston coffee shop/comic book store called Coral Sword at 1318 Telephone. For the coffee aspect of the shop, Pence is working with Houston’s David Buehrer (of Greenway Coffee) and barista Sanford Bledsoe III. Coral Sword is expected to debut in September. — The original Frenchy’s Chicken near Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church will relocate to accommodate an expansion of the church’s facilities. The new restaurant will occupy a space just a few blocks down Scott Street from its original home of 48 years. The restaurant is expected to reopen in 2018. [EaterWire]
