Described as the “Starbucks of Taiwan,” pastry chain 85C Bakery Cafe is finally ready to open its first location in Houston.
The first Space City outpost of 85C Bakery Cafe is set to open at 9750 Bellaire Boulevard next week. It’s the 1,000th location for 85C globally, joining multiple Texas locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. In Houston, though, the 85C Bakery Cafe outpost will be significantly larger than other than its other Texas restaurants, complete with an outdoor patio.
As far as the food is concerned, 85C is known for its expansive menu of Taiwanese-inspired pastries, like danishes, savory and sweet breads, cakes, and macarons that can be ordered from the counter or grabbed (with tongs!) from self-service bins. Coffee drinks and tea (with or without boba) are also on offer, along with chocolate milk and a bright purple taro latte that’s going to look killer on Instagram.
85C Bakery Cafe currently has plans to open two additional locations in Houston, though no timeline for their debut has been established just yet. In the meantime, the Bellaire outpost is set to open on Friday, July 7 at 10 a.m. Don’t be surprised if plenty of pastry enthusiasts have lined up outside before the doors even open.
