Luke’s Icehouse Has Been Sold, Is Now Closed

Last day of service was yesterday.

The 903 Durham Drive location of Luke’s Icehouse, despite a lukewarm review at its 2012 opening, boasted plenty to be stoked about: particularly “Houston’s Longest Happy Hour,” which lasted daily from 11am until 7pm.

And now, after almost five years in operation, the spot has closed, reports Houston Business Journal. Yesterday, the restaurant posted a somewhat cryptic post to its Facebook, simply saying that “Luke’s has been sold,” and that “there will be some great new things coming in the future.”

Luke’s Icehouse owner Keith Lawyer told HBL that the buyer of the Durham Drive spot is from Dallas, and operates many chains (including some locally) but did not give any more hints as to their identity.

There are two other Luke’s Icehouse locations — a spot in Beaumont, which got a major upgrade in 2014, and a location in Nederland which opened last year. Both of those spots will remain open and operating.
