Starting today, Postmates join the fray of on-demand delivery services that allow drinkers to lazily order booze without leaving home.
The smartphone delivery app has officially launched Drinks, a new tab that allows customers to order a selection of beer from local liquor stores on demand. The app offers up typical commercial brews, imports, and Texas favorites like Shiner and Karbach Brewing. A peek at the app indicates that a six-pack of Shiner Blonde will set drinkers back $14.93, and a single can of Michelob Ultra costs $4.50.
The app doesn’t yet offer the ability to order spirits or wine, though those options are available in other cities where Drinks operates, including New York. The app also isn’t the first to wade into this boozy territory in Houston. Services like Minibar Delivery, LASH, and Drizly currently operate in the city, and offer up a much broader selection of spirits and mixers than Postmates’ limited menu of beers.
If a beer is in order and leaving the house is out of the question, the Drinks tab is now live for users in Postmates’ Houston delivery zone.
