Tanglewood-based fans of Michael’s Cookie Jar, rejoice — there’s now a location in the neighborhood, slated to open later this month or in early August, reports Houstonia. This time, for the Cookie Jar’s third location, the company is going for a cafe vibe, and has partnered with Fat Cat Creamery and Boomtown Coffee to offer ice cream and coffee drinks from these folks, respectively.
Michael’s Cookie Jar first opened up a physical shop in Weslayan in 2010, though the sweets-making company had been around since 2006 slinging cookies.
In 2014 Michael’s expanded to downtown with a location in Penzoil Place — it was then that the Cookie Jar’s founder Michael Savino told the Houston Chronicle that he wasn’t ruling out further expansions of the sweet shop.
And now, three years later, that expansion talk materializes, as the company puts the finishing touches on its third location at 1864 Fountain View Dr. in Tanglewood.
