In the coming weeks, new sweet shop Milk & Cream will bring its ice cream-stuffed, doughnut-style dessert sandwiches to Houston.
Signage just went up at the restaurant’s first Houston outpost at 9630 Clarewood, just a stone’s throw away from restaurateur Mike Tran’s Mein and Ohn Korean Eatery. The Dallas-based shop has earned rave reviews in the Big D for its “milky buns,” which are essentially a less-sweet, doughnut-style pastry that’s completely stuffed with a few scoops of ice cream.
The concept isn’t exactly new to Houston. Stacked Ice Cream has been serving doughnut (and macaron) ice cream sandwiches, along with Koala Kolache and Karma Kolache. That said, there’s really no such thing as too many ice cream sandwiches, which makes Milk & Cream a welcome addition to the Houston dessert scene.
Milk & Cream has not announced an official opening timeline for the Clarewood location. Eater has reached out for more details, stay tuned for an update.
