Bringing yet another trendy dessert to Houston, Red Circle Ice Cream has officially kicked open its doors in Asiatown.
The new sweet shop quietly arrived at 6838 Ranchester yesterday, with an official grand opening set to follow later. The shop serves up a bounty of sugary, Instagram-friendly treats, including a variety of vehicles for ice cream, including macarons, “sugar buns” (which look an awful lot like doughnuts) and bubble waffle cones.
The shop’s most notable treat, though, is the loopy, heart-shaped churro that is freshly fried, rolled in cinnamon sugar, and topped with everything from cereal to sprinkles. Similar versions of these churros have been wildly popular in Los Angeles and Dallas, which means that it’s about time the trend made its way to Houston.
At present, Red Circle Ice Cream is open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday. The doors open at noon on Friday and Saturday, and stay open until 11 p.m. for late-night snack cravings.
