After what has already been a giant year for Chef Hugo Ortega, the Xochi and Hugo’s owner may have just scored his most exciting deal yet in a new San Francisco collaboration with megastar chef Michael Mina.

Starting later this month, Ortega’s fine Mexican cuisine can be found at Mi Almita, the seventh iteration of Mina Test Kitchen, Michael Mina’s experimental eatery that constantly revolves, reports Eater SF. The restaurant will serve a five-course tasting menu at a bargain price of $39, complete with a housemade chocolate course for dessert.

Mina first encountered Ortega on a visit to Houston, where he was decidedly impressed with the city’s culinary offerings, especially from Ortega, who is inarguably one of the city’s best chefs and restaurateurs. At Mi Almita, Ortega will bring some of those complex moles that he’s known for, along with bright, coastally-inspired Mexican dishes and a program of agave spirits.

In case this news inspires a quick trip to California, Mi Almita will debut in San Franscisco on August 23. Reservations can be scored here.
