Get ready for Atlanta-style Tex-Mex, y’all — Chef Ford Fry has officially announced plans to open his restaurant Superica in the Heights.
The expansion was reported by Eater Houston back in May, and confirmed by a press release from Fry’s restaurant group this morning. The restaurant will set up shop on North Shepherd Drive as predicted, and will bring Fry’s “Texas regional food” to the Heights, a neighborhood that has seen dramatic restaurant growth in recent years.
At present, Fry operates two outposts of Superica in Georgia, serving up Tex-Mex classics like fajitas and various types of queso. Alongside Superica, Fry will also open a “super-casual joint” that will be annexed to Superica, and serve up comforting fare (fried chicken, wood-roasted oysters, and burgers are among the menu options) alongside a laid-back vibe.
- Superica is expected to make its Houston debut sometime next year. Stay tuned for an official opening timeline.
