New Orleans favorite breakfast spot Merchant just opened a Houston outpost quietly last Tuesday, and it lives up to its tagline of “coffee, crepes, and grapes.” The restaurant on 1707 Post Oak Boulevard serves Illy coffee and specialty drinks like chicory lattes.

On the food menu, find crepes like prosciutto with truffle butter along with addictive breakfast sandwiches like the Fig’ama’gig with eggs, turkey, fig jam and goat cheese.

This is Merchant’s second location after New Orleans, and there are a few differences between the two Merchants. Right now, Merchant Houston is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. But as it adds staff, the plan within the next few weeks is to stay open until 10 p.m. to serve wine, beer and bubbly. That’s different than Merchant NOLA, which doesn’t stay open late. Also unique to Merchant Houston is a very photogenic matcha crepe cake.

Merchant Houston does have shelves full of crisp green apples, a design signature in the New Orleans location. Take a look through the restaurant’s Instagram and check out the menu below.
