Houston coffee guru David Buehrer and his Greenway partner Ecky Prabanto are just about ready to debut Prelude Coffee & Tea, the duo’s latest venture in Downtown.
The shop inside Hines tower at 609 Main Street will kick open the doors this week, bringing a brand new option for high-quality coffee and tea drinks to Downtown, according to a post to Buehrer’s Instagram. In addition to the espresso-based beverages that have made Buehrer a household name among Houston caffeine junkies, Prelude will also serve an extensive menu of teas.
Along with a full menu of matcha-based drinks, the menu at Prelude Coffee & Tea features a few unique drinks beyond the usual coffee shop fare, like the Matcha Sua Da, which is a riff on a Vietnamese iced coffee that swaps green tea powder for the typical black coffee. Black and herbal teas, including turmeric chai, jasmine, peppermint, and chamomile will also be on offer. On the sustenance side, Prelude will serve a selection of pastries that are delivered to the shop daily from Morningstar Coffee & Donuts.
Prelude Coffee & Tea is set to officially open on Tuesday, September 19. The shop will be open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
