— Next month, casting agents from Bravo’s Top Chef will make their way to Houston in order to find some quality talent. The show will set up shop at Chef Monica Pope’s (who appeared on season two of Top Chef Masters) Sparrow Cook Shop on Wednesday, February 7 to host meet and greets with local chefs. Houston is one of eight cities on Top Chef’s tour, joining New York City, Nashville, Miami, and Philadelphia. [EaterWire]

— Montrose favorite Common Bond Bakery is expanding to a second location. According to CultureMap, the bakery owned by Carrabba’s will open at the forthcoming Heights Waterworks development, replacing Ascension Coffee from Dallas and joining a permanent outpost of vegan food truck Ripe Cuisine. Common Bond has not announced a timeline for its Heights bakery, but expect for restaurants to begin arriving at Heights Waterworks in late 2018. [CultureMap]
