Next month, Coral Sword will bring a haven for gamers and plenty of coffee to East Houston.
The gaming cafe from San Francisco Giants outfielder (and Houston native) Hunter Pence and Greenway Coffee’s David Buehrer is set to throw open the doors in February at 1318 Telephone Road. In addition to the bounty of card, board, and role-playing games that will be on offer, Coral Sword will serve a full menu of coffee drinks, beer and wine, and pizza to keep gamers satiated as they play cards and flip through the shop’s collection of comic books and graphic novels.
Coral Sword will also be home to nightly livestreams on popular gaming-focused streaming platform Twitch TV, reports Houston Food Finder. On Mondays, the shop will broadcast a Scrabble tournament, and on Friday nights, the shop will be taken over by Magic The Gathering fans for Friday Night Magic.
Coral Sword is set to debut on February 2. The shop will be open from 7 a.m. until midnight Monday through Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sundays.
