The Toasted Yolk Café, a Houston-born breakfast chain, aims to dethrone rival Snooze with the opening of its eighth location near the Galleria in Uptown.
The latest outpost just debuted at 2711 Fountain View Drive, Suite A with a bevy of breakfast items on deck. Menu highlights include breakfast and lunch dishes made with locally sourced ingredients like sandwiches, salads, and soup for lunch, plus omelets, scrambles, riffs on eggs benedict, and multiple varieties of french toast for breakfast that just might give Snooze’s pancake flights a run for their money. Boozy breakfast drinks are on offer including multiple varieties of mimosas, wine, beer, and coffee.
The Toasted Yolk, founded in 2010, has landed on Eater’s map of essential breakfast spots. A press release announcing its Uptown arrival claims “the chain was founded just north of Houston [in Spring], years before anyone in Houston area had ever heard of Snooze.” The Toasted Yolk is aiming to outcompete other brunch destinations by saturating the market with 12 additional outposts slated for the coming year, starting with a location in The Woodlands.
The Toasted Yolk is now open in Uptown and operates 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
