El Tiempo 1308 Cantina has finally determined that its final day of service in Montrose will be November 11.

The restaurant had been on a month-to-month lease since this summer while waiting to hear when its building would be demolished to make way for mid-rise apartments. After several projected closing dates and push-backs, the restaurant stated in early October that it would probably have one month left in Montrose. True to that statement, it’s officially closing the second week of November with no signs of another reprieve.

The statement issued by owner Roland Laurenzo dictates that the restaurant will close at 9 p.m. after dinner service on Sunday, November 11. “There will be no fiesta going away party,” the statement somberly reads. “We received word from our landlord today that we must vacate the space on Wednesday, November 14th, to make way for the apartment project. We will be relocating all staff to current locations as soon as possible.”

Remaining El Tiempo Cantina locations include seven other outposts, as well as a forthcoming location on U.S. 290 in the Oak Forest/Garden Oaks area that the company plans to open by mid-December.

Stay tuned to Eater for more information on that opening.
