After Eater broke the news in July that Moving Sidewalk would close up shop, owner Brad Moore has decided to partner with two former collaborators on a new project in the space.
Cantina Barba owners Manuel De Leon and Steven O’Sullivan will join Moore in revamping Moving Sidewalk at 306 Main Street into something totally new. The mash-up is familiar territory for the trio, before Cantina Barba opened in May, De Leon and O’Sullivan were slinging tacos at Moore’s Grand Prize bar.
The cuisine found in the new project will come straight from the Cantina including a variety of tacos, quesadillas, elotes, chips and queso, plus its $5 hamburgers. Fingers crossed all-day breakfast tacos will also make the trek over. In addition to frozens, expect Mexican beer, Topo Chico, and maybe even aguas frescas. No word yet on what the new concept will be called.
Stay tuned to Eater for the new project’s official Downtown opening date.
