Downtown’s forthcoming tunnel food hall Understory has just announced that Boomtown Coffee will be its caffeine and baked goods purveyor.
The food hall’s Capitol Tower locale at 800 Capitol Street will be the third location for the coffee slingers, along with other outposts in Downtown at 300 Main Street and in the Heights.
Founded in 2011, Boomtown Coffee is known for lattes made with ingredients like coconut or almond milk along with the typical dairy varieties, and honey or agave as sweeteners. Also on offer will be loose leaf teas, specialty coffee beans including Ethiopian natural-process coffees, and a rotating selection of coffee from Kenya, Costa Rica, Sumatra, El Salvador, Guatemala, Mexico, and Columbia. While it doesn’t sound like this outpost of Boomtown will offer its full menu seen at other locations, the press release does tout pastries and baked goods from Boomtown’s arsenal.
When Understory debuts next year, a full-service restaurant, seven food vendors and a cocktail bar will be in tow. In August, Understory announced its first two tenants – East Hampton Sandwich Co.’s third area location and Mama Ninfa’s Tacos y Tortas, a new concept from the operator of The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation.
Stay tuned for more exciting announcements about the vendors that will debut at Understory.
