Porto’s Peri Peri, a popular Chicago spot dedicated to Portuguese flame-grilled chicken, will debut soon in Sugar Land.
The forthcoming spot at 2625 Town Center Boulevard will be the first Houston-area outpost for the brand, which operates seven locations in Chicago and recently made its first foray into Texas in North Dallas. Founder Syed Pasha tells Eater that he plans to open four more in the Dallas area and three more in Houston after Sugar Land. He’s currently looking at The Woodlands, the Bay Area, and a spot on Westheimer Road.
Porto’s is already seeing lines out the door in Dallas after debuting its marinated, vegetarian-fed chicken six weeks ago, according to Pasha. In addition to plates of flame-grilled yardbird, Porto’s offers wraps and sandwiches filled with chicken or vegetarian options like falafel, peri-spiked cheeses, or veggie patties. Sides include cole slaw, corn on the cob, hummus, mixed olives, and cassava fries with peri salt, to name a few options.
Pasha says he’s hoping to open in Sugar Land by mid-December, but it will definitely debut before the holidays. Stay tuned for Porto’s official opening date and hours of operation.
