NYC-based chain Pokeworks is adding to its fleet of Houston-area restaurants: the raw fish spot’s newest location in Houston is now open at 2630 Pearland Parkway, Suite 110. Be there on Saturday, December 8 for a grand opening party that includes a “buy-one-get-one free” offer on all poke bowls, burritos, and salads, along with prizes and a Pokeworks branded coconut for the first 50 customers in line.

Pokeworks already boasts locations in Katy, Montrose, and The Heights, with plans for a shop in Webster.

Nationally, there’s been a stretch of closures and bankruptcy filings among businesses in the once-red hot poke craze, but Eater’s research found that the Pokeworks chain continues on its upswing: Pokeworks’ sales are up 105 percent in the past year, with number of units up 80 percent, according to data from restaurant industry consulting firm Technomic.
