This week, a new destination for vegan doughnuts and gelato officially made its debut in West Houston.
The appropriately-named Vegan Donut & Gelato quietly arrived this week at 16618 Clay Road, and it’s serving a menu of classic doughnut options that are entirely free of animal products. Traditional glazed and cake doughnuts, bear claws, apple fritters, and cinnamon rolls are on offer, along with doughnuts topped with Fruity Pebbles filled with lemon curd.
It also appears that other non-doughnut, non-gelato options will be on the menu, including Chinese mooncakes and non-dairy milk to wash down all those sweets. Interestingly enough, there’s also a small savory side of the menu that serves vegan egg rolls, spring rolls, and fried rice. Bonus: pretty much everything on the menu is under $6.
A representative for Vegan Donut & Gelato tells Eater that the shop is now open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
