NYC Bakery Lady M’s Cult-Favorite Crepe Cakes Will Pop Up in Houston Again

— For the second time this year, NYC bakery Lady M is bringing its famed crepe cakes to Space City. The wildly-popular bakery will pop up on December 22 and 23 in a temporary boutique at The Galleria. This time around, only whole cakes will be available, unlike previous pop-ups where slices of the 20-layer, matcha-infused sweets have been on offer. The bakery is currently taking pre-orders. — Over the weekend, a fire ripped through Montrose restaurant Baba Yega, forcing it to close. The fire reportedly began near the restaurant’s entrance, and staff and diners had to be evacuated out of the dining room at about 9 p.m. on Friday night. Baba Yega owners Fred Sharifi, Ashkan Nowamooz, and Sue Nowamooz have vowed to reopen the restaurant in 2019 after repairs can be made. [EaterWire]

— The newest Houston location of Hopdoddy Burger Bar is set to make its debut near Clear Lake next week. The location at 820 West Bay Area Boulevard in Webster will open on Monday, December 17. [EaterWire]
