Press Waffle Co., a DFW export for crispy Liege-style waffles with inventive toppings, has officially opened its doors in Baybrook Mall.
The waffle slinger debuted over the weekend in a space near Macy’s and the Apple Store, bringing its menu of authentic Belgian waffles to the Mall. It’s the second location for Press Waffle Co., which first debuted as a food truck in 2016, then transformed into a permanent stall at Plano food hall Legacy Hall.
As far as the waffles are concerned, five sweet and three savory options like “The American” topped with a fried egg, melted cheddar, bacon crumbles, and maple syrup or a purely indulgent “The Kiddo” with chocolate syrup, bananas, whipped cream, and colored sprinkles, plus build-your-own waffle varieties. Press Waffle Co. specializes in Liege-style waffles, which means that its waffle batter is sprinkled with pearl sugar. That sugar melts on the waffle iron, creating a crispy, caramelized crust and fluffy interior.
Press Waffle Company is now open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
