Ever-popular Bosscat Kitchen & Libations has plans to expand to a new development in West Houston in 2020.
The Cali import has had a successful run in Space City, this forthcoming location at District West will be the third for Bosscat, joining the original outpost in Newport Beach and the first Houston location on Westheimer Road. Owners John “JT” Reed, Leslie Nguyen and Vinnie Capizzi also launched a buzzy spin-off in BCK Kitchen & Cocktail Adventures last year. There’s not many details yet on what the interiors will look like, but expect the same industrial-influenced design inside the forthcoming 5,000-square-foot location. It will seat 144 guests, and Joshua Wiseman of Construction Concepts in charge of the build-out.
When Bosscat popped up on the scene, it made a splash with an extensive whiskey selection — more than 250 bottles on deck — and American comfort foods. Presumably the forthcoming location will also feature a “whiskey room” with the hundreds of bottles available to order from, and the same menu found at other locations like pulled pork sandwiches, shrimp and grits, soups, salads, and an abbreviated selection of fish, beef, and chicken entrees.
“We’ve grown to love Houston in our short time here, and we were intrigued by the dramatic growth in the Katy and Richmond areas,” Reed said in a statement. When Bosscat debuts in District West, it will join Star Cinema Grill opening in March 2019 amongst other as-yet-unnamed dining establishments in the 100-acre mixed-use development.
