The South African bar and restaurant formerly known as Springbok has undergone a major revamp. It’s now called BirdDog Saint, and South African cuisine is no longer on the menu.

Posts to Instagram reveal that the bar has been quietly testing out its new name and menu for the last couple of weeks after ditching the Springbok name. That restaurant is marked as closed on Yelp, but it looks as if Bird Dog Saint will be making its official debut in the coming days.

As far as the food is concerned, Springbok’s peri peri chicken and curried meatballs have been replaced with a menu of small plates (think crispy chickpeas and candied bacon), pizzas, and a raw bar. A simple cocktail list is broken down by spirits — tequila, vodka, gin, rum, scotch, and whiskey — and serves up libations like a house old fashioned and the Dictador & Stormy.

Eater has reached out to BirdDog Saint for more details on when the bar will be fully open. Stay tuned, and scope out these sneak peeks inside the space below.
