Brunch lovers, get ready for German-themed Egghaus Gourmet to launch in Shady Acres this summer.
The new fast-casual eatery is from Hans and Philipp Sitter, the father-and-son team who own nearby King’s BierHaus and King’s Biergarten in Pearland, the Houston Chronicle reports. The success of the King’s kolache pop-ups spurred the duo to open a permanent brunch outpost that will serve breakfast tacos, breakfast sandwiches, and of course, their famous kolaches.
The Sitters have already been road testing their brunch concept with a weekly Sunday affair at BierHaus, where they debuted eggs benedict; a corned beef sandwich topped with fried egg and sauerkraut; and appropriately, wiener schnitzel topped with egg and hollandaise, according to the Chron. Their Hangover Sandwich sounds especially delicious and is made with pork or chicken wiener schnitzel, bacon, cheese, and a fried egg.
“We wanted to bridge the gap between the concepts of ‘fast’ and ‘quality’ when it comes to breakfast by developing an experience that is equal parts prompt in service and elevated in flavor,” Philipp Sitter told the Chronicle. “Egghaus will allow guests to get the utmost in quality of ingredients without having to wait around all morning to get their food. Dishes at Egghaus will be made from scratch with cage free eggs — just like our kolaches.”
No word yet on when Egghaus officially opens, but here’s hoping the BierHaus brunch makes its way on over to its new egg-themed neighbor.
