Charming New Shop Brings Coffee and Tea to Washington Avenue

The Yellow Cup has arrived

The Yellow Cup, a brand new coffee and tea shop, has officially made its Houston debut.

Space City’s newest caffeination destination made its debut at 6001 Washington Avenue over the weekend. Tea drinkers should especially take note, because the shop plans to place just as much emphasis on its non-coffee options as its perfectly roasted beans. Caffeine junkies who eschew coffee can look forward to a selection of tea leaves sourced from farmers all over the world, ranging from black and green teas to flavored herbal options.

But of course, the coffee sourcing is equally obsessive. The Yellow Cup says that it will only work with local roasters who engage in “direct trade,” or buy beans directly from coffee growers. Drip and brew coffee will be on offer, along with espresso-based drinks. When hunger strikes, a selection of breakfast pastries, cakes, and other desserts will be on offer.

The Yellow Cup’s owners tell Eater that the shop will make its official debut on Tuesday, April 17. The shop will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday throughFriday, and 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
