— It looks like Greenway Coffee owner David Buehrer has teamed up with real estate group Platform to open an all-day cafe at a forthcoming development planned for 2132 Bissonnet Street. Details are scarce on what the as-yet-unnamed eatery will serve, but a developer’s brief for the project indicates that it will serve Latin fare. The chic space will seat about 55 people indoors, along with 35 seats on an outdoor patio. Stay tuned for more details on this exciting new project. [EaterWire]

— Two Houston restaurants — Xochi and Theodore Rex — have landed on GQ’s list of the country’s best new restaurants. In his roundup of the country’s best eateries, which also features appearances from hot newcomers like David Chang’s Majordomo and Junebaby in Seattle. Critic Brett Martin praised Xochi’s mole sauces and Theodore Rex chef Justin Yu’s funky, “barnyardy” Paris-Brest dessert. [GQ]

— Beloved Katy eatery Leibman’s has officially opened its new location at 10100 Katy Freeway. The 40-year-old bakery will be open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and plans to continue serving its famous chicken salad sandwiches and affordably-priced wines in the expanded space. [EaterWire]
