Celebrated North Texas chef Tim Love is bringing two of his popular restaurants, Love Shack and Woodshed Smokehouse, to Upper Kirby this summer.

The restaurants are slated for Levy Park, a newly renovated five-acre outdoor project inside the Kirby Grove mixed use development. According to Swamplot, Love’s eateries could be located near the garden and performance pavilion at Wakeforest Avenue. An expansion of the Fort Worth original, Woodshed Smokehouse will served smoked meats inside an upscale, sit-down space that’s fronted by a glass-walled facade overlooking the park. The more causal of the eateries, a burger joint called Love Shack, is set up like an outdoor kiosk with a dozen bar chairs surrounding the central food prep area.

Love’s expansion into the casual food market took off recently as he dipped his toes into the gas station food game with specially branded PB&Js for Pilot Flying J. He’s best known for his flagship Lonesome Dove Western Bistro in Fort Worth, plus other Texas-themed restaurants include Queenie’s Steakhouse and White Elephant Saloon. Love has also logged time as one of the investors on CNBC’s Restaurant Startup reality series.
