Tubs Poutine, a pop-up that evolved into Houston’s first restaurant dedicated to the Canadian delicacy, will finally open this week in the Energy Corridor.
The restaurant had been aiming for a June 1 opening date after locking down it’s new permanent location at 13429 Briar Forest Drive, and according to a recent Facebook post, it’s right on schedule. The post announces that the grand opening will be taking place this Friday with discounts for those who follow the post’s instructions.
That means poutine lovers can snag some of the delicious dishes at half off, like french fries topped with pulled pork, rotisserie chicken, or ground beef, and fixings like jalapeños, roasted garlic, bacon, and guacamole — plus all the cheese curds and gravy that would make a Canuck proud. Diners can also look forward to dishes like Vietnamese egg rolls in homage to founder Brian Nguyen’s heritage, fried cheese curds, and egg and potato scrambles with a variety of toppings during Sunday brunch.
Tubs Poutine will officially open for business this Friday, June 1. Hours of operation are Tuesday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Fri 11 a.m. to 12 a.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
