Last week, Eater announced that two new bar concepts, Swallow’s Nest and St. Jac’s, will be coming to Downtown’s Finn Hall, and now we have more information on what the fledgling bars will be serving.
St. Jac’s, located in the main hall, will put a focus on craft cocktails, local beer, and 12 wines on tap. Because it’s located inside a food hall, patrons can order a drink then roam the grounds deciding what to eat before taking a seat in one of the shared indoor or outdoor spaces.
A Space City-focused cocktail menu features citrus-forward drinks like the DJ Screwdriver made with Deep Eddy Ruby Red Vodka, Paula’s Texas Orange, orange juice, and sparkling rose; the 610 Citrus, a tequila-based cocktail made with fresh lime juice and agave nectar; or the ’45 Southside made with Hendrick’s Gin, Deep Eddy Lemon Vodka, fresh lemon juice and garnished with mint and cucumber. The bar’s rotating selection of 16 beers on tap includes local favorites like St. Arnold’s Orange Show, Eureka Heights Buckle Bunny, and Back Pew Blue Testament.
While upstairs on the mezzanine level, drinkers will find Swallow’s Nest, an Art Deco cocktail lounge serving beer, wines by the glass and bottle, and Houston-centric cocktails like 713 G&T, a gin and tonic made with with fresh lime juice and a jasmine green tea simple syrup and the Azaela Trail, a drink made with dry vermouth, Aperol, and Lillet Rose, named after the River Oaks springtime attraction.
The upstairs space will have wait staff, so diners can place an order from one of the 10 food stalls and have it delivered directly to their tables. The aptly named Swallow’s Nest gives diners a bird’s eye view of the Finn Hall happenings below, making it a veritable people-watching party, and patrons will find both bar stools and plush table seating from which to take in the action.
Swallow’s Nest and St. Jac’s will be open Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight, Saturday 10 a.m. to midnight, and Sunday 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
