Hawaiian chain Matcha Cafe Maiko is just about ready to open its doors in Houston, bringing Space City its first shop dedicated to matcha.

A representative for the sweet shop tells Eater that Matcha Cafe Maiko will open its doors at 6550 Corporate Drive next week. As reported back in February, Houston is the third destination for the Honolulu-based dessert chain on the mainland, joining locations in San Francisco and Las Vegas. As one might expect, Matcha Cafe Maiko is completely obsessed with its namesake ingredient, a bright and earthy green tea powder that’s often touted for its health benefits.

At this forthcoming sweet shop, matcha is an ingredient in a dizzying array of drinks and desserts, ranging from matcha soft-serve to frappes and floats topped with mochi, chestnuts, and azuki beans. Matcha-spiked shaved ice, sponge cake, and (of course) hot and cold tea beverages round out the menu, along with Japanese favorites like ozenzai, a sweet, porridge-style dessert made with azuki beans.

Matcha Cafe Maiko will open on Tuesday, July 17 with a grand opening party from noon to 10 p.m.
