El Tiempo’s Montrose Location Will Stay Open For The Foreseeable Future

Despite announcing a July 31 closure, the restaurant’s landlord offered an extension

It appears that El Tiempo 1308 Cantina will be open in Montrose a little while longer, despite announcing last week that it would shutter at the end of July to make way for new apartment buildings.

According to a press release submitted to Eater, Sunrise Montrose Apartments extended El Tiempo’s month-to-month lease at 1308 Montrose Boulevard for the time being because of construction delays. El Tiempo’s new closing date isn’t yet known, but according to the release, its owner Roland Laurenzo gladly agreed to the new terms of the lease to keep his Montrose outpost open for as long as possible.

“We aren’t sure how much longer we will be staying, but we are happy to be there for at least another month” Laurenzo wrote in a statement. The restaurant’s closing party has also been postponed until further notice. Laurenzo counts seven other El Tiempo restaurants that will continue to remain open despite the future plans to bulldoze his Montrose outpost for the apartment development.

Stay tuned for more information on the uncertain closing date for El Tiempo’s longstanding Montrose location.
