Sul Bing Su, a new Korean shaved ice shop with decadent toppings, just opened yesterday in Katy.
The dessert purveyor debuted at 23119 Colonial Pkwy B-16 in Katy Asiatown, joining MeetFresh and newly opened Beard Papa’s among a list of other Asian eateries and tea shops. Sul Bing Su offers up traditional shaved ice desserts with some outlandish toppings like one option with strawberries, cheesecake bites, and most decadently, an entire slice of cheesecake.
While there’s no menu posted online just yet, it appears that the shop is also serving up bingsu topped with a mountain of Oreo cookie crumbles or traditional Asian toppings of red beans, nuts, and fruit. Also on offer are soft serve-stuffed taiyaki (a Japanese ice cream cone shaped like a fish) topped with macarons, breakfast cereal, and sprinkles, among more items. Several of the soft serve flavors include matcha, black sesame, and taro.
Sul Bing Su has only been open for a day and has already earned a handful of five-star reviews on Yelp from its first dessert enthusiasts. Its hours of operation are Sunday through Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
