Uptown Sushi Will Close For Major Interior Revamp

Uptown Sushi will temporarily close its doors to make way for a major interior renovation. The Galleria-area restaurant announced its planned revamp on Facebook, and shared renderings of the changes that indicate it will get a major facelift and more modern interiors. Uptown Sushi will close next week, and plans to reopen its doors sometime in January 2019. [EaterWire]

Jinya Ramen Bar will still open a location in Sugar Land, but it’s in a different location than originally planned. A tipster pointed Eater in the direction of a Facebook comment from Jinya Ramen Bar franchisee Jim Wang that indicates the ramen shop will open a location at 13509 University Boulevard in Sugar Land, in the same development as 85C Bakery Cafe. According to that comment, a lease has been signed, but no opening timeline has been announced just yet. [EaterWire]

— More details have emerged on Sweet Bribery, the ice cream shop that will replace the doomed Lee’s Creamery in the Heights. A job posting to Poached indicates that it will be a “nostalgic” ice cream shop that will serve scoops in fresh waffle cones, plus “wine and beer ice cream cocktails.” The shop is hiring “ASAP,” but no word yet on when it will open.
