Tonight, the Houston Astros will begin their quest to (again) bring the World Series trophy back to Space City. The game kicks off at 7:08 p.m. at Minute Maid Park, but for those among us who don’t have tickets, watching it on TV in one of the city’s best restaurants or bars is one hell of a consolation prize.

Instead of staying at home and yelling at the television, head to one of these fine Houston bars or restaurants for killer deals on cocktails and food during Astros games, plus plenty of camaraderie.

  • Weights + Measures — Skip the sports bar in favor of this classy spot, where a pretzel and beer cheese will only set Astros fans back $5. At the bar, find $5 cocktails, wine, and beer during all Astros World Series games.
  • Bernie’s Burger Bus — Texas beers are just $4 during Astros games at all Bernie’s Burger Bus locations across Houston, along with a BOGO gourmet hot dog option that can score diners two brisket-topped dogs for about $10.
  • 8th Wonder Brewing — A stone’s throw from Minute Maid Park, this brewery is going all-out for the Astros. The game will be on — with sound! — and specials like 2-for-1 IPAs, and a $10 burger deal that includes a beer token and order of fries. If the ‘Stros hit a home run during the 8th inning, 8th Wonder will pass out “8 dollar bills” that can be redeemed at the brewery.
  • Bisou — Feast on filet and lobster on the cheap ($27!) while watching the Astros from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Loch Bar — $2 oyster shooters, $8 cocktails, $5 beers, and more specials await at this ritzy viewing destination.
  • Burger Joint — Score a free milkshake every time the Astros hit a home run during the World Series. According to a rep for the Montrose favorite, Burger Joint has already given away upwards of 500 shakes thanks to the ‘Stros ridiculously hot bats.
  • Monkey’s Tail — “Happy Meals” for grown-ups await at this new bar, and there’s booze involved. Score 6 jumbo wings, a beer, and a shot of tequila or whiskey for $13 during Astros games.
  • Goodnight Charlie’s — The game’s on at this beloved honky-tonk, and so are happy hour prices during the Astros games. If the ‘Stros win, happy hour lasts all night long.
  • B&B Butchers — Looking to spend way too much money on a hot dog during the World Series? Head to this opulent steakhouse, where the $124 Break the Bank Frank will be served. It’s a wagyu hot dog served on truffle butter toasted bun with A5 Japanese wagyu filet, Maine lobster, beurre blanc, and 24-karat gold flakes as garnishes.
  • The Roastery — At this new cafe’s San Felipe location, score $3 can/bottle beers, $4 drafts, $1 wings, and $10 pizzas, among other game day specials.
  • The Hay Merchant — Houston-made beers are half-off when the Astros are winning, as usual.
  • Sylvia’s Enchilada Kitchen — Score half-off cheese enchiladas and $4 beers and house margaritas while watching the game in the bar at all Sylvia’s locations.
  • Local Foods — Happy hour starts at 2 p.m. all week long ahead of the World Series, which means $6 snacks like vegan queso, Fritos pie, and brussels sprout tacos, along with $5 wines by the glass and $1 off all beers.
  • Understory — Throughout the food hall, find lawn-style seating and a projector wall showing the game. At the Silver Lining Bar, $4 Houston beers and free Crawford Bock beers every time the Astros hit into the Crawford boxes.
  • Dish Society — When the Astros hit a home run — and you know that will happen often — pints of Karbach Brewing’s Crawford Bock are just $1.
  • Third Coast — Happy hour starts at 3 p.m. at this Medical Center restaurant, which means that Astros fans can pre-game before the game actually begins. As a bonus, though, happy hour will continue throughout Astros games during the World Series.
  • Eight Row Flint — Score a Crawford Bock, Dome Faux’m, or Crush City beer with a shot of Maker’s Mark, Arette tequila, or Jim Beam whiskey for $6.
  • A’Bouzy — Gulf oysters on the half shell are just 50 cents during all World Series games, and the games will definitely be on all of A’Bouzy’s TVs.
  • Present Company — Calm your baseball nerves with a Take It Back Tini at Eater Houston’s 2018 Bar of the Year. Mixed with Houston’s own 8th Wonder vodka, ginger, orange juice, and lemon, the cocktail is garnished with an Astros logo and vanilla foam.
  • The Original Ninfa’s on Navigation — Going to the (home) games? Park here for free, take a shuttle to the ballpark, and eat a lucky platter of fajitas before heading to Minute Maid Park.
  • Brasserie Du Parc — Just a short walk away from Minute Maid Park, this Downtown French restaurant boasts a $10 game day special that includes its house burger on brioche bun, a beer, and an order of fries. That’s hard to beat, just like the Astros.
  • King’s BierHaus (Heights) — For serious baseball enthusiasts, the sound will be on during Astros games here, along with $5 hot dogs and $5 beers.
