For one weekend this month in Houston, international confectioner Lady M Cake Boutique will serve its signature 20-layer cakes inside its first-ever food truck.
The global brand sells gourmet cakes and chocolates out of bright and sleek shops sprinkled across New York, Los Angeles, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Boston. Now it’s got a new truck that’ll park outside Houston’s elite furniture dealer Baccarat (4444 Westheimer Road).
Hours are as follows: Friday, October 18 (3 p.m. to 8 p.m.), Saturday, October 19 (12 p.m. to 5 p.m.), and Sunday, October 20 (12 p.m. to 5 p.m.).
The truck, a year in the making, will be decked out in fancy swag (think Baccarat chandeliers joined by 3-D art by Kurt Wenner). After Houston, the truck will head to California and step up service by serving cakes and drinks on sparkling Baccarat plates and glassware.
Houston’s menu calls for signature mille crêpes, green tea topped with matcha from Japan, and its newest marron mille crepes, all available by the slice and whole six-inch and nine-inch cakes. Customers are encouraged to pre-order whole cakes online, with a limited amount of slices available for on-site purchase.
