After closing earlier this year, Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot’s getting a major revamp and a new name

Just in time for chilly winter weather, Happy Lamb Hot Pot will set up shop in a space on Westheimer Road.

Permit applications filed with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission indicate that the hot pot chain is headed to 5901 Westheimer Road, Suite A. According to Eater Boston, Happy Lamb Hot Pot is a sister concept to Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot, which formerly operated at that address. Back in May, Little Sheep closed its doors for a menu revamp and renovations, and apparently a name change was also in order.

When it debuts, expect bubbling bowls of traditional or spicy miso broth that can be loaded with different proteins, veggies, and garnishes. According to menus at other Happy Lamb locations, expect quality proteins like Kurobuta pork, organic lamb from New Zealand, and USDA Choice cuts of beef, plus tons of vegetarian-friendly options like tofu and platters of fresh bok choy, broccoli, daikon, and more vegetables.

Eater has reached out to the restaurant for an update on when it’s expected to open. Stay tuned for an update.
