It’s happening: beloved NYC burger chain Shake Shack is on its way to The Woodlands.

Back in June, Eater reported that Shake Shack had set its sights on a new outpost in the north ‘burbs, and construction permits filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation confirm that it will open at the Woodlands Mall at 1201 Lake Woodlands Drive, Suite 700. No opening timeline has been announced, but it’s possible that the location is set to open sometime next summer:

When it opens, the new Shake Shack location will be the first in Houston’s suburbs, joining currently open restaurants in Rice Village, the Galleria, Montrose, and the chain’s newest location in Downtown Houston, along with an outpost at Minute Maid Park. Founded in 2011 as a hot dog cart in New York City by hospitality mogul Danny Meyer, Shake Shack’s beefy patties and crinkle-cut fries have quickly become a part of the city’s thriving burger scene, attracting lengthy lines when new locations open.

A rep for Shake Shack tells Eater that it will open in The Woodlands in “late summer 2020.”
