River Oaks’ three-year-old Borgo Food Station is about to transform from a meals-to-go spot to a dine-in destination. Chef Monica Fallone and Luis Mancera, the husband and wife duo behind this market, will soon transition the space at 3641 West Alabama to Mina Ristorante, an Italian restaurant set to open in April.
The dishes at Mina Ristorante are inspired in large part by Borgo’s popular meals-to-go: expect antipasti, freshly-made pastas, comfort food, and desserts. In mid-February, the transition will begin with construction of a dining area, designed by Erin Hicks. The new look will add sophisticated touches like dark walnut tabletops, brass accents, and stone countertops.
When Mina Ristorante opens in the spring, the restaurant will offer counter service during lunch hours from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Table service will be offered during dinner Monday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be happy hour deals from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday too.
