To say that Houston dining mogul Bobby Heugel is excited about his latest restaurant opening would be an understatement. That would be Squable, the new European eatery from Heugel and partner Justin Yu, located in the Heights at 632 West 19th Street in the former home of Southern Goods.

“I haven’t been this proud of something since opening @anvilhouston ten years ago,” Heugel just wrote last week on Instagram about Squable. “We’ve all worked our asses off on this restaurant, and it shows in every way. Beyond thrilled and almost ready to open for the public!”

Well, today’s the day for a few Houston diners: according to Squable’s Instagram account, the restaurant is accepting walk-ins starting today at 5 p.m. (Word to the wise, the restaurant’s name doesn’t rhyme with “table,” it’s pronounced like “squabble.”)

Squable posted on Instagram Stories that there will be space for walk-in diners tonight, and going forward, with plans to also accept Resy reservations as well. The hours will be 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. every day except Monday, and you can even show up way late. “And we seriously mean 11:00. It’s cool to walk-in late and have a full meal. We’d love to have you and won’t rush you out,” the restaurant’s post reads.

Squable went through a soft opening over the weekend, and diners raved about dishes like marinated mussels on grilled bread. When the restaurant was announced in February, the plan was to serve a menu of “European fare with American influences,” with local ingredients. Mark Clayton and Drew Gimma head up the kitchen, while Terry Williams is Squable’s general manager and Justin Vann is its sommelier.
