Houston’s Sky-High Restaurant Strato 550 Is One Step Closer to Opening

Strato 550 picks an executive chef

Things are shaping up for Strato 550, the upcoming lunch and cocktail hour destination with sweeping skyline views 43 floors up. The restaurant headed to the 43rd floor of the renovated 1415 Louisiana building just announced that Houston chef Evan Parker will lead its kitchen. Parker’s resume includes gigs at catering company Mélange and Tinys No. 5, (part of the restaurant group Tiny Boxwoods Productions). He’ll serve Mediterranean-influenced cuisine at Strato 550 for the lunch and happy hour crowd and for conferences.

Indigo and Georgia James Get Major Props in GQ

Two Houston restaurants landed on GQ’s Best New Restaurants in America, 2019 list, and critic Brett Martin raved about the city’s food scene, writing that Houston is “is not only one of the country’s best food cities but also, increasingly, a bellwether of where its dining winds are blowing.” Read what he had to say about Indigo and Georgia James here.
