The California bakery is headed to Texas Medical Center

SusieCakes is sweet on Houston. The bakery, which originated in Los Angeles and has expanded to more than 20 locations in California and Texas, is adding a new shop after opening its first Houston outpost two years ago in Houston.

A rep from SusieCakes confirmed that the bakery is headed to Texas Medical Center, with an outpost expected to open at 1709 Dryden Road in Houston (no suite numbers are available yet). This is quite close to the chain’s current Rice Village bakery, which opened in November 2017.

The new Medical Center location is expected to open in late summer or early fall. SusieCakes is known for its frosting-filled cupcakes, but that’s just the beginning of the baked goods on offer. Made-from-scratch goodies include pies, brownies, cookies, cheesecakes, puddings, whoopie pies, and more.
