Five-year-old Montrose mainstay Common Bond Cafe & Bakery plans to import its critically acclaimed croissants, pastries, and savory bites to Springwoods Village.
Its newly signed 4,200-square-foot location, located inside the mixed-use CityPlace urban center, is expected to open in early 2020.
Houston-based entrepreneur George Joseph’s neighborhood cafe has gained a steady following over the years for its morning scrambles, avocado toasts, and burgers served in a casual and communal setting. This spring Common Bond debuted its second location in the Medical Center.
Its latest location, locked down by brokers at Chodrow Realty Advisors and Transwestern, will sit on the ground floor and feature patio seating.
Other hospitality tenants on-site include the newly-opened SwitcHouse restaurant at the Houston CityPlace Marriott at Springwoods Village, with Island Grill and dine-in movie plex Star Cinema Grill slated to join the lineup this year.
In a release, Joseph says he was attracted to the neighborhood for its nearby workforce, which includes companies like ExxonMobil, HP and Southwestern Energy. Common Bond Cafe CityPlace plans to serve weekday breakfast, weekday lunch and dinner, as well as weekend brunch and dinner.
